Media quotes from London:

Immersive Rumours

“One of Vikings: The Immersive Experience’s standout elements is the set design, which helps it distinguish itself from the rest of the city’s immersive exhibitions. It is a step above many of the other similar experiences on offer in London and strikes the balance between both educational and entertaining”

Secret London

“The nature-inspired sets and digital landscapes were a highlight, leaning into a Game of Thrones -style aesthetic and focusing on the untouched wilderness and mythical wonder of the era. It’s not ofter a journey into history feels so hauntingly otherworldly”

All That Dazzles

“If you are knowledgeable about Vikings or know nothing about them, there is something for everyone in this fantastic experience”

Time Out London

“Some lovely interactive maps, a twinkly magical forest, insta-friendly enchanted glades and magic pools. If you’re looking to kill sometime with the kids, Dock X is right here and a lot cheaper and easier than a day trip to York”

Broadway World

"Vikings doesn’t disappoint. In delivering some truly immersive set pieces which educate as much as they entertain, it lays down a gauntlet to the theatre industry in general."

The Nudge

"Dock X has been transformed into a 9th-century Norse hallucination, with a forest set, VR trips underneath a huge tree (called Yggdrasil), interactive exhibits, and a 360-degree cinematic finale built around a full-size longship.”

The West End Best Friend

“This exhibition is a fresh take on a museum environment that fuses different modern technologies to unlock new learning experiences. The VR content feels impressive and is a true highlight”

The New Statesman

“Vikings Immersive is largely a display of rousing, moving images transmitted with cutting edge technology, a new experience for someone like me.”

nice and relaxing experience, VR was good. suitable for children from 6/7 years old onwards. the cafe is good and quiet too. there is a small area with swords and shields and a throne for them to take photos, they enjoyed it a lot!

One of the very best immersive exhibitions I have done and easily a standout experience I have booked through the fever app. Fully interactive, beautifully designed and genuinely transports you into their world. From the excellent story telling, to the hands on elements and a spectacular 30 min show on the history and story of the vikings, this is unmissable! Perfect for history fans and anyone who loves immersive experiences. 5 stars!

Accessibility

How do I book a ticket for my Companion/PA?

Essential Companion tickets are intended for customers requiring additional support. This must be due to disability-related needs, significant and in excess of what could be reasonably expected of family or friends already accompanying you. Companions must be booked in advance during the booking process, when you purchase tickets for the exhibition. A companion ticket can be claimed by those who are severely sight impaired or deaf, and by those who can show one of the following forms of documentation upon arrival. Without this documentation we will be unable to honour the complimentary Companion/PA ticket.

Accepted forms of documentation include:

  • Middle or Higher rate DLA for care and/or mobility.
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP) documentation.
  • CredAbility Access Card with a "+1" category requirement.
  • A recognised Assistance Dog ID card.

Please note that the guest requiring assistance must have a valid entry ticket.

Documentation may not automatically award Personal Assistant or Essential Companion tickets for children under 16, as children are always required to be under the direct supervision of a responsible adult in our venues. If the visitor is a child, to obtain a free Companion or PA ticket, there must be at least one full-priced General Admission ticket in the group.

Can I bring animals? Are service dogs allowed?

No, animals are not allowed in the exhibition, other than trained assistance dogs.

Assistance dogs are welcome, including those from ADUK, accredited training companies, and owner-trained dogs. Please be aware that if the dog's behaviour does not meet the required standards, entry may be denied.

All assistance dogs must remain on a lead at all times.

Is the venue accessible? Yes, the exhibition rooms are accessible for people with mobility impairments. Accessible parking is available at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre Car Park (Parking Lot, Deal Porters Way, London SE16 7LL), free for 3 hours. Wheelchairs are not available to borrow on-site.
Is the experience accessible for deaf or visually impaired people?

This is a multi-sensory immersive exhibition that relies heavily on visual environments, lighting effects, sound design, and spatial storytelling. As a result, some elements of the experience may be challenging for visitors who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired.

An audio guide will be available for all visitors, and our team is committed to supporting guests wherever reasonably practicable. Visitors with specific access requirements are encouraged to contact us in advance at accessibility@fkpscorpio.co.uk, so we can discuss individual needs and provide appropriate assistance where possible. Due to the immersive nature of the exhibition, full accessibility for all sensory impairments cannot be guaranteed.

Are strobe lights used during the event? Strobe lights are not used, but the fast-moving images of the VR and immersive show may trigger seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy.
Are there seating options? Can I sit during the experience? It is a walk-through experience, but you will find some seating areas where you can rest if you need a short break.
Are there toilets on-site? Yes. Toilets are available at the entry and exit points of the exhibition but not within the exhibition itself.
Is there an audio guide available on-site? Yes, an audio guide is available in English, as part of the immersive experience. The provided bone conduction headphones and audio guide should be worn throughout each part of the tour (including the immersive show) to make the most of the audio elements. Due to the immersive and visual nature of the exhibition, the audio guide does not replace visual elements.
Where are the baby changing facilities? There are baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet inside the venue.
Is merchandise available on-site? Yes, you can purchase merchandise from our shop at the venue, via card payment only.
Is proper ventilation ensured?

The venue meets all required ventilation standards for public exhibitions.

About the Event

What can I expect at this event?

Get ready for an immersive experience full of excitement, power, and myth! Wander through misty forests, decipher ancient runes, and explore secrets beneath the world tree Yggdrasil using Virtual Reality (VR). Experience the gripping saga of Viking King Ragnar and warrior queen Aslaug. Feel the ground tremble beneath the dragon ship as projections, sound effects, and light bring the Viking Age to life in the immersive show - here, you become part of the story.

An experience that captivates, inspires - and won't let you go!

Please note: The only AI elements in this exhibition are the Kraka Talking Head interactive sets. All music is original and has been recorded and mixed. All video mapping is storyboarded and generated using state-of-the-art video technology. All monologues and audio guide narrative have been recorded with actors.

What does the term "immersive" mean? "Immersive" describes an effect in which the viewer dives into a multimedia illusion of image and sound and perceives it as real. With a 3D mapping projection system, content such as graphics, animations, images, or videos can be projected onto three-dimensional objects, creating a unique atmosphere.
What is a Virtual Reality experience?

In the Virtual Reality experience (VR experience), you fully immerse yourself in a digital environment with the help of a VR headset, which leads you visually and auditorily into a virtual world. In this exhibition you will learn about the origin story of the protagonist beneath the world tree Yggdrasil in this way.

The standard VR contains some violence which may not be suitable for younger children.

Is the exhibition suitable for children?

We recommend the experience for children aged 4+. The exhibition has immersive elements, numerous light effects, and a pronounced soundscape - please note, it is at your discretion whether you deem the experience to be suitable for your children to attend.

The standard VR contains some violence which may not be suitable for younger children.

Children aged 3 and under can attend for free. Prams and buggies are not allowed to be brought into the exhibition (unless a child has a medical need, if so, documentation must be provided). To avoid disappointment, we kindly ask where possible for prams and buggies to be left at home. From age 4, children need their own ticket.

Will there be guided tours? Guided tours are not planned. Due to the interactive and immersive nature of our exhibition, the focus is on independently immersing yourself with all your senses into the world of the protagonists.
What are your opening hours? Please check our ticketing agent (Fever’s) website for opening times. Vikings: The Immersive Experience is open daily from 9am - entry closes 15 minutes after the final time slot begins.
How long does the visit take? How are the time slots organized?
